About me…
Maylang and its ideas
I like to describe Maylang as my “playground”. Every idea that crosses my mind and makes it into existence finds its place here.
Right now I’m working on bringing together all the small projects from my German lessons that are too good to let them gather dust on a hard drive.
Since I’m experimenting a lot with AI at the moment, you’ll find a few experiments here that try to make lessons or study time a bit more active.
Who knows — maybe I’ll finally get around to writing the blog I’ve wanted to start ever since I began travelling through Southeast Asia.
Vocabulary Trainer
So why build a vocabulary trainer when there are thousands on the market, all promising to teach you a language in your pocket?
Honestly, that is already the answer. Every vocabulary trainer is overloaded with features, pop-ups, mascots and subscription plans. As a teacher, I find it impossible to recommend one to my class that doesn’t take their money, but that might also let me create suitable vocabulary lists for them. And what’s easier than searching for a long time? Doing it yourself!
My wish is that one day I can simply give my students a link through which they load the vocabulary into their trainer and build up the new words for the next lesson. That way we can spend class time on more important things than explaining vocabulary.
